These are my renditions of Emily Dickinson's 3 volume collection of poems. For this project, I type set the book, as well as stitched and bound the books.
For this Book, I decided to use the Old Claude font, and center the text. My purpose for this combination was to highlight the imperfections of the text. Emily Dickinson talks a lot about Life, death, nature and imperfection, so to me the bleeding of the font and the jagged edges that were formed by the centered text fit thematically.
I've also made the text fairly large, giving her poems breathing room.
